Random Musings….

On the weather today:

The weather has been absolutely wonderful today. Bright blue skies and lovely temperatures in the 60’s. I love the winter. Living in the south in scorching (and I mean SCORCHING!!) high temps during is not fun. I look forward to winter’s icy winds every year. Some think me crazy, especially some of my northern guests, but I really do prefer winter to the summer.

Today, we have just been busy enjoying life. School, chores, reading, and a fun time chatting with a friend have been the highlights of today. I really enjoy slower days. I am one who enjoys the simple and quiet life. Enjoying the weather, family time, gardening- does it get any better than that? God knows that we need some quiet days to replenish peace in our soul. Take a minute this evening and simply be still. Allow your soul to rest, and really listen for what God wants to reveal to you. I find that I am enlightened on so many things after a sweet conversation with my Savior.

We had spaghetti pie for supper. I thought maybe I would share the recipe:

Spaghetti Pie

Directions:
1. Boil a package of spaghetti noodles.
2. Pour a little bit of spaghetti sauce in the bottom of a 9 x 13 casserole dish.
3. Pour the boiled (and drained) noodles over the sauce.
4. Pour more sauce over the noodles. (I usually mix the noodles and the sauce together in the pan.)
5. Sprinkle mozzeralla and parmesan cheese over the top.
6. Cook until cheese is melted and everything is hot.
7. Serve! : )

I think that is everything for now…

Many blessings!

Hi again….

It is hard to realize we are almost at the end of January. It feels as if the year is blowing by before I know it.

I am sorry that I haven’t blogged in such a long time. We have been so very busy. :O)

1.These days you can find me more on Twitter or Facebook. I do micro-blogging on Twitter, which has been really fun. I have met some wonderful people over the last couple of weeks and it has been such a blessing to me to have that fellowship.

I also signed up for a delicious account this last week- you can see what I’m reading in the sidebar or add me to your network. : ) If you are on Twitter, Facebook, or Delicious, email me or drop me a comment and I’ll friend you. : )

2. I have a two prayer requests this week:

1. Our septic tank has had water standing over the tank. Our landlords came out and “fixed” it, but it still has water standing over the tank. Please pray for it to be fixed properly this time and for pleasant relations between the landlords and my family. They think the issue is our family size, when in reality, it was actually our former neighbors (one of which is in jail now!) running over our septic tank in the middle of the night intoxicated. When they came out and “fixed” it, they actually said that it looked as if someone had ran over the tank, but they are not putting 2 and 2 together. If it was us, the field lines would be flooding, and they are not.

2. One of my sweet online sisters is going through a very rough time right now. I am not going to share details, but please be in prayer for her, as what happened was extremely unexpected and was heartbreaking for her and her family. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

3. I received a lovely new camera for Christmas and have really enjoyed taking pictures with it. Here are a few that I have taken lately:

4. Do you have a blog? I would love to add you to my blogroll or exchange a link/ad with you. Email me for more details and we’ll set it up, ok? : )

5.I am working on a blog design for my projects blog. It will be where I post pictures/updates on craft projects that I am working on for the coming year. Hopefully, it will be ready soon.

I think that is all for now!

Many blessings!

New Year Resolutions

It is that time of year again! Time to pull out those papers and pencils and make out your New Years resolutions. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are are some of my resolutions/goals for the coming year. I have 2 main goals, and then I have some other smaller things that I would like to accomplish.

Main Goals
———————-

1. Grow closer to the Lord with increased Bible study and prayer. I want to have my “sword of the spirit” well sharpened and ready. I will be reading more out of the Bible for sure, but I am also looking for a Bible study book to go through. (Any suggestions?) I definitely want to get into the habit of copying verses and writing them down to better increase my understanding of whatever text I am reading. That would also help with committing scripture to memory, which is something else I want to do more of this year. I will also be reading different books about Christianity/theology.

2. Increase my territory of outreach. Every morning, my family prays together. My father prays for an increase of our territory, and ever since he began to do that, we have met many new people, and have had more opportunities to reach out and help others. I am praying for not only an increase to my family’s territory, but also an increase of my own. I want people to be able to see Jesus and His work in me.

Smaller Goals
——————

1. As this year will be my final year of school, I would like to make sure that I am really absorbing the material in my books. I would like to become more diligent at keeping on top of school, and want to make this final year the best. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. I would like to post more often to this blog. Enough said. ;o)

3. I would like to see a few of my business ideas grow this year. Please be in prayer over that. ๐Ÿ™‚

4. I want to spend some time crafting/sewing every day. Even if it is just a row on a knitting project, I know that this is something I should really be spending more time on.

5. I need to spend more time making sure my schedule is well organized and effective. I will be spending the first few weeks of January re-organizing and planning to make sure my time is well spent, and not simply thrown away. One of the ways that I plan to do this is getting my planner together and updated, and making a simple schedule for specific blocks of time. I plan to read “Managers of Their Homes” again for more information on how exactly I want to proceed with this.

6. Get my driver’s license. I went and got my permit in September of last year, and this year, I want to go get the license.

7. I would like to make more homemade things, both for my hope chest and gifts. Little things are so much more meaningful if they are homemade. I would ideally like to be finished with all the gifts for the year by August.

So far, this is what I have. What are your resolutions?

Many blessings,
~*~Courtney~*~

The new design…..

I am getting the new design together- pardon the mess! ๐Ÿ™‚

Many blessings,

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog. I am 19 and the oldest of eleven children. I am learning how to run and care for a home, learning to be more like Jesus, and how to be a godly wife and mother. We love each other, and each day is a new adventure as we seek to glorify the Lord through all we do.
