30 Days of Thankfulness – Day 2

Today, I am linking up with Rachel and Jessica over at Young Homemakers for their “30 Days of Thankfulness” challenge.

For each day in the month of November, I will be posting something that I am thankful for. I hope that YOU will join in as well. =)

My family. =) The LORD saw fit to place me in a house with 12 of the most amazing people that I have ever had the blessing of being around. Each and every one of my family members have their own personality and way of doing things, yet God has allowed us to mesh each of our strengths together to be a strong family unit.

I am so thankful for my family.

My parents are a huge source of wisdom for me. I know that I can ask them about anything and they will help me work through whatever issue I am needing help with at the time. I am so grateful that they have a genuine interest in the things that are going on in the lives of my siblings and I. Us children are truly blessed to have such a godly example of married life and of parents guiding their children and seeking to raise them in the admonition of the LORD.

My siblings are also a huge blessing to me. Even though we have our moments, we all love each other dearly and are working to further build our sibling relationships. I can truly say that my siblings are my best friends. =) We know how to make each other laugh and enjoy working on projects together. We enjoy playing board games and singing at the top of our lungs when our favorite songs come on the radio. There is so much more that I could say, but I will leave you with this: Siblings are the bestest. =)

I am one grateful girl.<3

Don't forget to drop back by Young Homemakers to read more postings for the “30 Days of Thankfulness” challenge. =)

Blessings to you!

It has been another wonderful Saturday! We have just had fun resting and playing today as a family.

This is the last day of June. Tomorrow will be July 1st! This year is flying by! It hardly seems right!!

Have a restful and pleasant Sunday!!

Back again…

I am back to blogging again today! We have had a very busy last couple of weeks, setting up routines and such for when the baby is born! We had a very nice rainfall a few days ago:

It was sooo nice! We have been in drought conditions lately. This was a wonderful blessing!

You may notice a few changes still happening along the sidebars and such….. I am still perfecting the designs and tweaking a few last things!

I was reading in Proverbs again today… that book must have a magnetic attraction to my hands!! 😉 I came across this chapter:

Proverbs 15

“1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere,
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.

4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life,
but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

5 A fool spurns his father’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.

6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure,
but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.

7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge;
not so the hearts of fools.

8 The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked,
but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked
but he loves those who pursue righteousness.

10 Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path;
he who hates correction will die.

11 Death and Destruction lie open before the LORD—
how much more the hearts of men!

12 A mocker resents correction;
he will not consult the wise.

13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful,
but heartache crushes the spirit.

14 The discerning heart seeks knowledge,
but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

16 Better a little with the fear of the LORD
than great wealth with turmoil.

17 Better a meal of vegetables where there is love
than a fattened calf with hatred.

18 A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension,
but a patient man calms a quarrel.

19 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,
but the path of the upright is a highway.

20 A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish man despises his mother.

21 Folly delights a man who lacks judgment,
but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.

22 Plans fail for lack of counsel,
but with many advisers they succeed.

23 A man finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word!

24 The path of life leads upward for the wise
to keep him from going down to the grave.

25 The LORD tears down the proud man’s house
but he keeps the widow’s boundaries intact.

26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked,
but those of the pure are pleasing to him.

27 A greedy man brings trouble to his family,
but he who hates bribes will live.

28 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers,
but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.

29 The LORD is far from the wicked
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

30 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.

31 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke
will be at home among the wise.

32 He who ignores discipline despises himself,
but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.

33 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom,
and humility comes before honor.”

Such wisdom is contained in that book. It is a definite recommended book for all to read!

I must go for now!

Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning!

I hope this finds you well rested after a wonderful Memorial Day holiday weekend!

I know we had quite a good time.

I guest posted at Lines From The Vine today! Don’t forget to drop by!

I found a wonderful poem for Memorial Day.

Here it is:

A National Moment of Remembrance On Memorial Day

“That poem about where “poppies blow”
And, “the crosses, row on row”
Still rings true, these ninety years
After written, still brings tears.

We still have Dead, “amid the guns”
And lose our young and our loved ones
Those who lived, “short days ago”
Who, “felt dawn, saw sunset glow”.

In Flanders Fields, “the poppy red”
Still grow near where the blood was bled
They, “Take up our quarrel with the foe”
And still die for Freedoms that we know.

They pass, “The torch” to, “hold it high”
And not, “break the faith with us who die”
For they, “shall not sleep, though poppies grow”
Beneath all those, “crosses, row on row”
In Flanders Fields.”

Del “Abe” Jones

We had a wonderful weekend just resting and having family time. It is soooo nice to go into a week re-energized and refreshed.
